DC’s latest team-up is changing lives in the most heartwarming way possible. The iconic comics publisher has partnered with Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA|TLC) for a yearlong collaboration that brings together legendary superheroes and real-life puppy heroes, all working toward a future full of hope, independence, and tail wags.
Following the fan-favorite moment at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC and GDA|TLC are expanding their partnership into a full campaign centered around a brand-new litter of service dog puppies. And yes, this DC-sponsored litter is named after some of your favorite characters: Krypto, Clark, Lois, Kara, and Lobo.
Normally, GDA|TLC doesn’t theme their litters. But this time, they’ve made an exception. These golden-labrador crosses are now officially part of the DC Universe, starting their journey in puppy pre-K and eventually training to become guide dogs for people who are blind or visually impaired, veterans with PTSD, children with autism, and more.
“This partnership gives us the opportunity to share a different kind of heroism,” said Anne DePies, SVP and general manager of DC. “Last year at SDCC, fans were instantly drawn to the dogs and the story behind them. We’re proud to keep building on that connection in a way that supports such an important mission.”
From Puppy Go Home Day to their big debut at San Diego Comic-Con this July, fans can follow every step of their journey at DC.com/pups. There will be special activations, events, and maybe even a chance to meet the puppies in person.

First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
