MAD About DC comic is coming this April, delivering a hilarious, jam-packed, 64-page satire special starring the biggest names in comics.
This April Fools’ Day, the publisher is throwing caution, dignity, and probably continuity to the wind with MAD About DC, a 64-page one-shot parody comic edited (if you can call it that) by none other than Chip Zdarsky. It’s a full-blown MAD Magazine-style roast of the DC Universe, and yes, Chip being in charge is probably the biggest joke of all.
“They say at DC there’s nowhere to go but down after writing Batman, and, yeah, it’s true,” said Zdarsky. “It’s very true.”
This chaos-ridden collection features a stacked list of creators who definitely know better. From a new fold-in to a “Guy vs. Spy” showdown and even a MAD-style takedown of comic shops, no panel is safe. We’re talking contributions from Matt Fraction, Gail Simone, Scott Snyder, Rainbow Rowell, Steve Lieber, Erica Henderson, and dozens more. There’s even a “MAD Look at Comic Book Stores” from Sergio Aragonés, because of course there is.
Whether you’re a die-hard DC reader, a lifelong MAD Magazine fan, or just someone who enjoys watching creative professionals lose their minds on the page, MAD About DC promises more absurdity than a Bat-Cow solo series.
The book hits shelves April 1, 2026 (because of course it does), with covers by Dan Panosian, Simon Bisley, and Zdarsky himself. You’ve been warned.

First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
