Me am not excited about this at all. In fact, this am worst possible news.
DC Comics just announced Bizarro: Year None, a new four-issue limited series launching April 1, 2026; and yes, that release date is completely on brand. The book will tell the “definitive, indefinitive” origin of Superman’s backward doppelgänger, brought to life by Kevin Smith, Eric Carrasco, and Nick Pitarra.
That’s right: Smith (Green Arrow), Carrasco (Supergirl), and Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects) are teaming up to tell a weird, wild, heartfelt version of how Bizarro came to be, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most unexpected highlights of DC’s publishing slate this year.
The story follows Jimmy Olsen and Perry White on a journey through space that lands them in a dimension where the Daily Planet is practically a religion, and nothing is quite as it seems. Cue the chaos, mirror-world weirdness, and one truly lovable backwards Superman.
Bizarro himself put it best:
“Me am NOT excited for new comic! Bizarro: Year None am worst thing to happen!”

The series launches with a 32-page debut issue, priced at $4.99, and is set to drop on April 1. Variant covers will be available from Frank Quitely, Fernando Pasarin, Ibrahim Moustafa, and a foil variant from Pitarra himself, ranging from $5.99 to $7.99 depending on format.
With hyper-detailed art, a story that leans into the absurd, and a creative team with just the right mix of humor and heart, this one’s going to be a must-pull for fans of Superman, cosmic weirdness, and beautifully broken characters.
Or as Bizarro might say: This am very bad idea. You am going to not love it.

First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
