DC and Max recently dropped the trailer for the Max Original, Harley Quinn Season 5.
The trailer for Harley Quinn Season 5 brings the same raunchy fun and violence we’ve come to know and love from the series but sees our anti-heroes move to Metropolis. The trailer shows Gotham is overrun by giant rats, Man-Bat, acid lakes, and more. Harley and Ivy pack their bags and head to the definitively brighter Metropolis, home of Superman–whom Harley saved in Season 4’s finale. A new city offers new opportunities, with their old gang coming to visit for the usual chaos. A new city also means some new villains, chiefly Brainiac (whom we assume will be the season’s “big bad”). We also see Enchantress and Red X–who is likely the only tie to Season 4’s cliffhanger to make it to Season 5, at least from what we can tell in the trailer.
What Happened Before Harley Quinn Season 5
Season 4 ended with the discovery that Nightwing’s grave was robbed and the newly formed Gotham City Sirens–Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Barbara Gordon, and Catwoman–set to investigate. In the Harley Quinn Season 5 trailer, we don’t see anything related to the Sirens. As mentioned above, we do see Red X, who has ties to Dick Grayson. Originating in the 2003 Teen Titans animated series, Dick created the Red X persona to get closer to Deathstroke (known as Slade in the animated series). It would make sense that a resurrected Dick Grayson, thanks to the Lazarus Pit, who wants revenge on Harley Quinn would return as a villainous character. While not exactly aligned with the Red X origins, it makes complete sense in this little pocket of the DC Universe.

First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
