A form of tabletop gaming that has really taken me by surprise is the mystery-solving game. It’s part board game, part escape room, and part deduction. If you really wanted to have fun with it, you could incorporate a roleplaying aspect. In my house, we’ve had fun with those Hunt a Killer game kits that are sold at Target. While I’m still living that PSL life and getting ready for fall, it’s also the time of year where folks start thinking about the holidays. That’s where today’s promo comes in—Christmas Mystery!
Become a detective in this Christmas Mystery. You will have to investigate the mysteries of Santa Claus’ secret Villa. Your mission is to investigate Christmas Village and overcome challenges, find the culprits, and finally return the magic to the town in order to save Christmas!
While this Kickstarter is not live yet, the very premise of this game is wonderful. If you love Hunt a Killer-type games, this is the perfect game to play with your family or other Christmas enthusiasts. And while the screenshot above shows what looks like an app or video game type, this is a physical game you’ll get to play with your friends and family.
There does seem to be a bit of integration with a website or app, which just makes this game even more accessible to folks and may help grab your kids’ attention. There isn’t too much known about this game yet, but in just under two weeks on September 12th, we’ll see the full project come to Kickstarter. Be sure to head to the project and click “Notify me” to follow the project and be notified once it goes live. Don’t miss out on Christmas Mystery, which seems like the 2022 Christmas adventure we all need!
First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
