Obi-Wan Kenobi is here! How long is the Star Wars series premiere episode?
It’s an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan. There are books, comics, video games, animated series, and live-action series—enough content that there shouldn’t be a month that goes by that you can’t get your fill of Star Wars. And, yes, there still are films coming, but Star Wars in film no longer seems to be the focal point for the franchise now that The Skywalker Saga is complete.
Currently, we can get our fill on what Obi-Wan Kenobi was up to between the time of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Obi-Wan Kenobi follows our titular hero as he lives a quiet life on Tatooine quietly looking over Luke Skywalker, who is living with his aunt and uncle on the ol’ moisture farm. What was Old Ben up to all those years? We’re about to find out.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is undoubtedly Star Wars’ most anticipated series to date. While it’ll likely focus on the prequel side of Kenobi’s life, it’s leading up to his original trilogy story. It’s something fans of both eras, if not all three eras, of Star Wars, have been wanting for some time.
How long is Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 Episode 1?
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s premiere episode clocks in at 55 minutes, making it the longest premiere episode of any Star Wars live-action series and the second-longest episode of any live-action episode. Being billed as a limited series of only 6 episodes, there is a lot of story to tell and I would expect to see most episodes run longer than the average 35-40 minutes Star Wars series episodes have been running.
Debuting two episodes on Disney+ Friday, May 27th, at 12:00 AM PT and 3:00 AM ET, Obi-Wan Kenobi will be here before we know it!

First and foremost, Kev is a dad to three wonderful children. He’s also an uber Kevin Smith fan (all Smith’s movies are worth a watch, even Yoga Hosers) who has cried during Kermit’s monologue in The Muppets and once owned two VHS copies of Spice World. He loves all pop culture, particularly the MCU and Star Wars. The Evil Dead franchise is his favorite horror franchise, though the original Scream is his favorite scary movie. He bleeds Eagle’s green in the (suburbs of the) greatest city on Earth, Philadelphia. Go Birds!
