Seven books into a great series with familiar characters, Andrew Charles is beginning to feel like he’s inviting readers home with every new release. But we can’t linger there too long. Home is a place that we feel safe, and in The Footprints of the Forebears, we’re anything but. There are new, possibly cataclysmic dangers in store for the universe here, but certainly for the characters that have come to mean a lot to us. The odds are dire, but it’s also interesting to see how to unravel such a dangerous knot. With such incredible stakes at play, and with the talent and zeal that Charles injects in this latest entry in the series, could it be the last?
