Film Promo: The Second Age of Aquarius

The Second Age of Aquarius Poster

We feature a lot of book promotions on this site, but at its heart, That’s Entertainment lives and breathes film and TV. We got our start as a… video game review YouTube channel. Ok, so at its heart’s heart, we live and breathe video games, but we also cut our teeth gabbing about film and TV back in our podcast days. So, while Mike does a great job with the book promotions and I certainly enjoy doing them, these types of promotions feel a bit more like home to me. And The Second Age of Aquarius seems like a wild ride.

Ever wonder what it would be like to bring your favorite dead rock star back to life? Alberta certainly has. Since she was a kid, she’s dreamt of a world where ultimate 60s rock icon Russell Aquarius was still alive and writing songs just for her. Now a successful computer programmer, she takes her fandom and wishful thinking a step further and makes a Russell Aquarius avatar. Her loneliness and a freak power outage give her more than she bargains for when sparks fly not just in her computer, but also in reality when Russell’s avatar comes to life!

Some rock stars never die. And they don’t fade away either.

Several decades of pop culture collide in The Second Age of Aquarius when Weird Science meets The Odd Couple meets Oliver Stone’s The Doors. Written by Darren Gordon Smith (Repo! The Genetic Opera) and Staci Layne Wilson (Fetish Factory), and based on an original story from their book Sex Death Rock N Roll, the film taps into the premise set forth in Weird Science: creating a real-life avatar from a computer.

The Second Age of Aquarius is directed by Wilson and stars Christina Jacqueline Calph (Arthur) and Michael Ursu (Wildness) as Alberta Stevens and Russell Aquarius respectfully. The film also features Emmy nominee Martin Olson (Phineas and Ferb), Jeffery Henderson (Wendigo), Keeshan Giles (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and has a special appearance by award-winning actor Broke Lewis Bellas (Sinatra Club).

The Second Age of Aquarius is available NOW and can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video and other services like Apple TV, Vimeo, and more.
